As my experience, I can say that Dofollow and Nofollow do matter but Yahoo! and MSN also consider nofollow. moreover, it is not only about SEO but marketing too.By the way, It is also very informative and helpful post for SEO.

many social bookmarking site use nofollow or use their url shortner to rewrite the url… but the traffic is that what matters, but for this you need to be high on the first page
