Flash does not negatively impact your on site seo, but rather stunts it. Alternatives of the flash content that can be read by search engines will get you ranked higher, but if you have just flash then you will need to rely more on incoming links and have your meta tags perfectly tuned.

Yes, I agree to what Tom had said. Purely flash powered sites would really depend on their inbound links or what they call as backlinks. This would somehow help their sites to ranked.

Something I have noticed recently is that some sites are using what I call brute force SEO, rather than getting 1000s of backlinks, they just create 1000s of database driven webpages on their site and get a dataentry company to fill them with unique-ish content.

I had actually turned off/removed the URL field in my comments form, but now that I’ve had spamming under control for a while, it might be time to add it back. Besides, I check the comments daily anyway.
